Kim Kardashian gets a secret face lift after surgery made her older

She's one of the world's most famous faces. And despite Kim Kardashian's stunning looks, the A-lister is no stranger to having her appearance scrutinised. But after a recent public appearance, the mother of four's extraordinarily sculpted face sparked speculation she may have sought a little help from the surgeon's knife.

Attending the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles this week she sported glam make up and slicked back hair. 
Social media users, however, pointed out she was showing 'virtually no signs of ageing' and suggested she'd had a 'tastefully done facelift' at just 44 years old.

Now, a top UK cosmetic doctor has weighed in and he agrees Kim's face bears all the hallmarks of a new cosmetic operation. 
Kim has strenuously denied ever having surgery on her face but fans have long speculated she has had fillers a popular procedure in which gels are injected beneath the skin where they sit, adding volume. 

She has, however, previously admitted to having a 'little bit of Botox'. London-based aesthetics doctor Dr Jonny Betteridge said he suspects the mother-of-four has undergone something called 'a ponytail facelift'. 

In an Instagram video, he told his 289,000 followers: 'Fillers only go so far and if you fill your face to the point where you can't go any further, often you need to dissolve what you've got and then you're left with an alternative option. That's surgery.
'You can see how tight and lifted her face looks with virtually no signs of ageing.

'Given her facial appearance, I think she had a ponytail facelift around two or three years ago, where the scars are discreetly put in the hairline by the temple and behind the ear.'  A ponytail facelift, also known as a mini facelift or short scar facelift, is a minimally invasive facial cosmetic procedure that takes around an hour and a half to complete.

It costs around £6,000 privately in the UK.  
Through the discreet incisions made around the ears and hairline, underlying tissues are tightened and muscles can be repositioned. 

Excess skin can then be trimmed to create a smoother, more youthful appearance. 
Dr Betteridge added: 'In a video of hers from 2022, we can see evidence of skin folding in front of the ear. 'But for her to look very similar to how she did 20 years ago, with the only real obvious difference being her nose shape and cheek volume, I'd say that's pretty impressive.' 

'Great surgeon! She looks so great', one fan wrote, commenting on Dr Betteridge's video. 'She looks fabulous, but looks like a facelift isn't this incredibly young to have one?' another questioned. Earlier this month, a surgeon speaking to MailOnline warned of the rise in younger women needing facelift surgery, because their looked had been 'ruined' by years of having filler injections.

Dr Julian De Silva, a specialist in facial plastic surgery said: 'Increasingly women are coming to me about facial ageing in their 30s. Often it's because they've had fillers. 'Filler can accumulate it doesn't always completely dissolve naturally and it can be really difficult to remove.

'One patient I hadn't seen for five years came back for facelift surgery and I almost didn't recognise her because she had so much volume added to her cheeks, lips, chin, jawline. 'She was having it added every six months and it just accumulated. 
'We dissolved as much as we could. But patients often require surgery as their skin ends up stretched.'

Dr Sophie Shotter, of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine, added: 'You're not supposed to have fillers before you're 18, but we know less reputable clinics do it.
'So I'm not surprised women hit their 30s and end up with skin laxity and needing surgery.' Last year, Dr Andrew Peredo, who specializes in aesthetic procedures of the face, also speculated that Kim had spent 'somewhere around $50,000' because 'she is so well known'.
