Randy Orton faced Cody Rhodes in September 2011. During the match, Cody took out the turnbuckle pad and distracted the ref. Took out his mask and hit Randy with it, but Randy kicked out. Randy got really angry, took off Cody’s mask and hit him with it and got disqualified. Randy continued to assault Cody. Hit him with an apron DDT. Threw him outside. Randy took the ring bell, hit Cody with it and busted him open and hit him with an RKO on the announcer table. Three weeks later on Raw, Randy faced Mark Henry in a non-title match. At the end, Randy went for the RKO, Cody appeared but Randy threw him outside. Mark Henry caught Randy in the world’s strongest slam, but Randy countered him and hit him with an RKO, Cody attacked him when he was pinning. Randy managed to come back. Randy went for the RKO, but Cody pushed him and Henry hit him with the world’s strongest slam. And then hit him once again. Cody came back, hit Randy with the cross Rhodes and put a bag on his face. On Smackdown, Matt and Henry met again, but this time for the title. At the end, Cody appeared again and the ref stopped the match. Cody and Randy met at Vengeance. At the end, a bagger distracted Randy and he pushed Cody into him and hit him with an RKO to pin him and win the match.
