Executed for Translating the Bible to English: How William Tyndale's Martyrdom Changed the World

Four hundred and eighty five years ago this month, William Tyndale was martyred by the ruling authorities in England for translating the Bible into English. His dying words were, "Lord! Open the King of England's Eyes." Within four years of his death, King Henry VIII officially authorized English translations of the Bible.
