About Munger Ganga Bridge--
Srikrishna Setu Munger Ganga Bridge (श्रीकृष्ण सेतु मुंगेर गंगा पुल), is a rail-cum-road bridge across the Ganges, at Munger in Bihar.
The bridge connects Munger District Munger-Jamalpur twin cities to various districts of North Bihar. Srikrishna Setu Munger Ganga Bridge is the third rail-cum-road bridge over Ganga in Bihar.
The 3.750-km-long (2.330 mi) bridge costing Rs. 9,300 million is located 60 kilometres (37 mi) downstream of the Rajendra Setu near Mokama and 63 kilometres (39 mi) upstream of the Vikramshila Setu at Bhagalpur. The bridge will form a link between NH 33 on the southern side of the Ganges and NH 31 on the northern side of the Ganges. Shrikrishna Setu connects Jamalpur Junction and Ratanpur railway station on the Sahibganj Loop line of Eastern Railway through a new junction namely Sabdalpur Junction on north end of bridge to Sahebpur Kamal Junction and Khagaria Junction on the Barauni-Katihar section of East Central Railway. The Bridge connects districts of Begusarai and Khagaria to the Divisional headquarters Munger city.
Construction work on the bridge was inaugurated by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister, through video conference system, in 2002. Bridge was formally opened for freight trains on 12 March 2016 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was finally opened for passenger trains on 11 April 2016 by Minister of state for Railways, Manoj Sinha by flagging off Begusarai-Jamalpur DEMU train. In his inaugural speech the MOS Mr. Manoj Sinha announced that the bridge will be named " Sri Krishna Setu " " श्रीकृष्ण सेतु " in the honour of the Great Freedom Fighter, Premier and 1st Chief Minister and Architect of Modern Bihar "Bihar Kesri" Dr. Srikrishna Sinha "Sri Babu". Road on bridge is complete too but approach roads are not ready due to lack of land acquisition.

About Munger--
Munger is a twin city and a Municipal Corporation situated in the Indian state of Bihar. It is the administrative headquarters of Munger district and Munger Division. It is the 11th largest city of Bihar by population.
Historically, Munger is known for being an ancient seat of rule. The twin city comprises Munger and Jamalpur situated on the southern bank of the river Ganges. It is situated 60 km west of Bhagalpur & 180 km east of Patna.
Rail
Munger has 2 railway stations: Jamalpur Junction and Munger Station. The former is main railhead for the city. Both Stations are connected with Sahibganj Loop.
The rail system provides connection to cities such as New Delhi, , Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Surat, Yesvantpur Junction, Jamshedpur, Jammu Tawi, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Agartala, Hyderabad, Deoghar Junction, Muzaffarpur Junction and Dhanbad.
The Munger Ganga Bridge connects Munger to the nearby cities of Begusarai, Saharsa Junction, Katihar and Khagaria Junction as well as various districts of North Bihar. The bridge is the third-largest rail-cum-road bridge in India.
Road
Munger is connected to major parts of India by various National and State Highways. The major cities of Bihar and Jharkhand - such as Patna, Ranchi, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Bihar sharif, Muzaffarpur, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Gaya, Bokaro and Darbhanga - can be reached by NH 33 , NH 80 and NH 333 and various state Highways. Regular bus service are provided by BSRTC for all the major cities and other destinations. Citybuses, Taxies, Autorikshaw, E-Rickshaw, etc. are available all the times in the entire city for transportation.
The Munger Ganga Bridge is under construction (Road part) and will link Munger to various districts of North Bihar and north-eastern India by 2021.
