Who We Are
We are Vava Venezia and Thomas Dellert – a couple, a creative force, and survivors of profound adversity. Our lives have been devoted to art, culture, caregiving, and resilience.
For over a decade, we’ve built a partnership rooted in both love and artistic vision — creating together, enduring loss, and turning pain into expression.

Vava is an artist, educator, writer, photographer, and designer — and above all, a survivor. Her photographic series Selfish – Selfies was a finalist at the Florence Biennale 2021. Born in the U.S. and raised between New York and Europe, she’s lived through abandonment, raised three children, and crossed countries while keeping her creative flame alive. She has exhibited in Paris, Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Rome, Venice, and New York, with work always rooted in feminism, memory, myth, and rebellion. She is currently working on a book about her life journey and art as therapy.

Thomas is a legendary Swedish multi-artist — visual creator, photographer, fashion designer, singer, songwriter, and poet. He has exhibited internationally and is included in the permanent collection of the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. He was the official artist for Mercedes Benz, Absolut Vodka, and Heinz. He worked with Ingmar Bergman and performed in productions by Cameron Mackintosh. He’s shared moments with cultural icons such as Warhol, Bowie, Lennon, Hendrix, Dietrich, Josephine Baker, and the Sex Pistols.

Thomas has performed in Berlin and London, and throughout his life, he’s carried out many book projects, music recordings, and large underground art exhibitions in London, Paris, New York, and Berlin.
Now 72, he faces serious health issues, but his creative spirit is alive. His final chapter includes finishing his memoirs, preserving a vast archive of 600+ hours of video, photo negatives, and building his last exhibitions based on legends from history
