Discipleship is the process of following, learning from, and becoming more like a teacher or leader—most often in the Christian sense, it refers to following Jesus Christ.

In the Bible, the word disciple means “learner” or “follower.” So discipleship is the lifelong journey of learning Christ’s teachings, imitating His life, and helping others do the same.

Here are some key points about discipleship:

Relationship with Christ – It starts with a personal commitment to Jesus as Lord and Savior (John 8:31).

Learning and Obedience – A disciple learns the Word of God and obeys it (Matthew 28:19–20).

Transformation – Discipleship shapes a person’s character to reflect Christ’s love, humility, and holiness (Romans 12:2).

Discipline and Growth – It involves prayer, studying the Bible, fellowship, service, and spiritual discipline.

Multiplication – A true disciple doesn’t just follow Christ but also makes other disciples (2 Timothy 2:2).

In simple terms: Discipleship is walking with Jesus, becoming like Him, and helping others do the same.
