This is a 40s era Gretsch set in midnight blue pearl. 9x13, 16x16, 14x24 and includes a rare Gretsch Gladstone 2-way tuning snare drum. Amazing kit and I have never seen another complete kit like this with a Gretsch Gladstone snare. The Gretsch Gladstone snares were made in the 30s up until the war circa 1942. They were then discontinued. Circa 1947 Billy Gladstone started producing the drums on his own using his new doubel-node lug. (The Gretsch Gladstones have the single node lug). Since there had not been in production since 1942, this had to have been a special order with this set since the set was made in 1947. Some original calf on the toms and some newer calf as well. Plastic heads on the bass and snare. Amazing kit with that full, warm 40s era sound. This would be an icredible kit for a collector or for a studio. Don't miss this one.
