Apple has released iOS 26.2, which gives users more control over the Liquid Glass design language. With this update, you can adjust the transparency of the Lock Screen's clock. This follows previous user complaints about the semi-transparent interface elements, making it difficult to read.
The Liquid Glass design, introduced with iOS 26, aims to modernize Apple's OS and prepare for potential AI smart glasses. However, it received mixed reviews, with some users finding it hard to use. Apple's response includes a slider to control the opacity of Liquid Glass elements and now, a specific tool for the Lock Screen clock.
The timing of these changes is interesting, especially with the departure of Apple's design executive, Alan Dye, who was behind the Liquid Glass makeover. His replacement, Stephen Lemay, has a background in interface and interaction design, which could be crucial for refining Liquid Glass.
