Salt the Wound" confronts the harsh reality of inherited familial and generational trauma. The song explores the difficult decision of either harboring resentment towards family for their role in this cycle or accepting them for who they are, flaws and all. It also acknowledges the connection between inherited traits and the band member's own struggles with mental illness, recognizing it as part of a larger, familial pattern. The driving guitars, powerful vocals, and emotionally resonant lyrics capture the internal conflict and the search for peace within a challenging family dynamic.

"'Salt the Wound' is a deeply personal exploration of the complexities of family and the impact of generational trauma and inherited mental illness," shares Tanis Pellegrini, the band's frontman. "It's about recognizing the patterns, the inherited struggles, and coming to terms with the fact that you can't change the past or the people who are part of it or all of the things that you get from family. It's about finding a way to accept them and, ultimately, accept yourself."
