Friends in this video we would like to discuss about wheat lodging or How to prevent wheat lodging in wheat crop.
Wheat lodging is major problem in reduction of wheat production which leads to major financial loss of the farmers. Friends’ lodging is a term which is mostly used in wheat production technology in which wheat plants may fell down at different stages of its life cycle.
Lodging at any stage, especially at milky stage definitely affects the process of photosynthesis & translocation, in result wheat production can be decreased. Rust disease can also be a part of wheat lodging in some cases. In this situation farmers should take necessary measures to avoid or minimize the yield losses! For this it is suggested that use of Potassium based fertilizer may help a lot to alleviate the ill effects of wheat lodging. Heavy flooding (watering) should also be avoided. It is also highlighted that one or two spells of recent rain fall placed very positive effects on current crop of wheat. Many of the farmers are requesting to recommend them some more supplements & micro nutrients like; NPK, Azabiyan or extra bag of urea etc to make their crop healthier and to increase their production level from normal level. But in our analysis, the blessing from Allah in the form of rain has completed all loopholes of the current crop of wheat. At Current stage there is no need of using any other/extra micro nutrient for extra production. Now we need to take measure to make our wheat crop safe from lodging at any cost which can give extra production.
