While most subjects featuring snow means leaving a lot of untouched paper, this one is set at the far end of the golden hour, when the sun is truly a dying light low in the sky, and the ground is thrown into a deep, cool shadow.

... all except for the very last subtle light from the dying rays, just skimming the surface of the ground, and the faint, yet remarkable, twinkle of highlights in the snow crystals.

Not everything went exactly according to plan though, as you will see, and I have a few hints on how to enhance your winter sunsets...
