Water Ski Jumping Overview.

In Jump, the skier is on two skis and hits a ramp which ranges from 5ft-6ft tall. Each age division has their own maximum boat speed. Skiers will perform a cut towards the ramp to gain as much additional speed as possible. As the skier hits the ramp, they rise up like a snow ski jumper flying through the air. Each skier has three attempts to jump as far as possible. Their longest distance is scored. Top Women competitors jump more than 170 feet using a 5.5ft ramp height and top Men competitors jump more than 230 feet using a 6ft ramp height.
