Blond Female Ping Pong Player Competes Against Males in 2014 World Championship (Egle Adomelyte)

Two things stick out in this clip: 1) The player is a female competing against males (and beats one of them in this clip), and 2) she is not Asian. Originally from Lithuania, Egle Adomelyte moved to London England as a teenager and has become a ping pong sensation. A 3rd thing to notice is that her second opponent in this clip is Adoni Maropis who is an actor best known for playing Quan Chi in Mortal Kombat: Conquest. He also played the role of terrorist leader Abu Fayed in season six of 24 and as an assassin in the season three premier of the TV series Chuck.

Edomelyte beat Maropis in a very close match where she lost the first set but won the two after. In the 3rd and final set she was ahead 10-6, giving her 4 match points against him. Maropis was able to win 3 of those but lost the 4th, which gave Edomelyte the game, set, and match.

One has to wonder when she shakes up and down (as she does at 2:30), does it distract her male opponents & give her an inadvertent tactical advantage...
