Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel! Today, I've got a great finger dexterity warm-up for you. We'll be working through six different four-note sequences designed to enhance your finger control and articulation.

Introduction to the Exercise
We're going to focus on six patterns using our fingers in different combinations. Each sequence will be played two times slowly and then four times at a faster tempo. The goal is to improve your accuracy, articulation, and overall finger dexterity.

Pattern Breakdown
Here are the six patterns we'll be working with:

Pattern 1: Fingers 1, 2, 3, 4.
Pattern 2: Fingers 1, 2, 4, 3.
Pattern 3: Fingers 1, 3, 2, 4.
Pattern 4: Fingers 1, 3, 4, 2.
Pattern 5: Fingers 1, 4, 2, 3.
Pattern 6: Fingers 1, 4, 3, 2.
For each pattern, start by playing it slowly two times. Make sure every note is clearly articulated, with each finger striking the fingerboard like a hammer. Then, play the pattern four times at a faster tempo, minimising finger motion while still aiming for clear articulation.

Applying Rhythms
To make this exercise even more effective, try applying different rhythms to these patterns. This can help you adapt the exercise to specific pieces or passages in your repertoire that you find challenging.

Using in Repertoire
These dexterity patterns are not just warm-ups—they can be a powerful tool for tackling difficult passages in your repertoire. Whenever you encounter a tricky sequence in a piece, try breaking it down using one of these patterns to master the finger movements.
