"Three Days of Rain" James McAvoy Stage Door London 06 May 2009

I was walking around London on a cold rainy Tuesday afternoon when I stumbled upon the huge poster for "Three Days of Rain" outside Apollo Theatre from which a sad and visibly distressed James McAvoy embraced an young actress...I thought to myself: "This looks promissing..." Then, I just entered the theatre and purchased a ticket for the next performance...

Oh my! that evening at Apollo Theatre was beyond my greatest expectations! First of all, I was so lucky to sit on the second row of one of the smallest theatres in London's West End so, I had James' and Nigel's spit all over me :)

Second, I had no idea what the play was about but how entertained I was! The play may not be a theatrical piece of art but it is a gift to and from those three actors (James, Nigel and Lindsay Marshal), each of them play and deliver two completely different characters on the play's two acts, with accurate American accent (the story is set in New York). The chemistry between the three of them is perfect and the interactions with the audience are a special treat. The story is funny, sad, romantic and sometimes even heartbreaking...I had good laughs and fell in love with Pip and Ned (my two favorite characters).

Third of all, I had watched many James McAvoys' movies, but it's on the stage that he really shines, his performance blew me away both as the sexy and rebel Walker and as the shy and speech-disabled Ned. To call James McAvoy a future legend is not over-rating at all! Not to mention the cutest Scottish accent in the world at the Stage Door ;)

Note: I did not have my camera on the day I watched the performance (only had my cell-phone which James tried in vain to snap a photo of both of us...yes, he is such a nice down to Earth guy, so adorable...and yes, he touched my cell-phone :P ) so I went back to London a few days later just to shoot this video.
