Sketch N Build were awarded the contract by two agencies; Avante Garde and Noble Events, to construct and install three premium sponsor stands for BMW, Infiniti and Bentley at the rebranded #NoFilterDXB formerly known as the Dubai Motor Show, from concept through to creation.

Located in affluent Dubai Marina the event aimed for a high end lifestyle feel from designer clothing brands and yachts to DJs and food stands and of course luxury cars.

No longer wanting the traditional trade fair set-up, SNB were tasked to create three stands that utilised immersive branding activation for social media therefore creating maximum engagement.

November was an incredibly busy month for SNB and to have three premium-sponsor stands at the highest-profile motoring event in the region was extremely exciting.

As the flagship stand at the event getting the Bentley display perfect was paramount.

Due to uneven ground a purpose built platform was built to support the stand displaying no less than three luxury vehicles.

Furthering the challenges the design required a specific iridescent vinyl which could only be sourced in the UK. The rare material was express shipped to Dubai and installed by SNB master craftsmen just in time for the event.

Finally SNB custom made a treated fabric sun shade to cover the stand. A true meeting of practicality and marketing know-how, not only did it encourage guests to visit as they shaded from the Dubai sun, it also protected the precious goods on display.

The real jewel in the crown of the Bentley stand was getting the royal seal of approval from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum when he visited the event. Additionally the client was so impressed they commissioned SNB to work on another stand/activation straight off the bat.

The second of three stands constructed by SNB was for BMW. A quick turn around build, the biggest challenge was completing the premium stand in only one day ready for the event to start.

With graphics needed at short notice and construction and install deadlines tight our crews worked tirelessly on back to back shifts to complete the finished stand to the high standards BMW and #NoFilterDXB expected.

As a central feature of the stand BMW commissioned a living wall. However the outside location and hot weather conditions meant real plants would deteriorate quickly so an alternative needed to be found.

Working with the best artificial wall suppliers in the middle east we successfully created a living wall that ticked both aesthetic and practical boxes. And the client was so happy with the final product they asked for an identical one to be installed in their showroom.

The third and final stand created by SNB was commissioned by Infiniti. This was the first time the agency had worked with the client so the pressure was on to deliver a great first impression.

The main feature of the stand was a custom-built tree, engineered and constructed by SNB craftsmen. From a only reference image our designers made the client’s vision a reality.

The spectacular tree focal point was made bespoke by our highly skilled metal workers. Meticulously crafted cherry blossoms and origami butterflies, synonymous with Infiniti’s Japanese heritage, were hung from the tree. And LED lights installed under the branches made sure the tree shone its brightest even at night.

The event was a great success and the stands received great media attention.
