On September 7, 1996, Tupac arrived in Las Vegas to attend the Mike Tyson vs. Bruce Seldon boxing match at the MGM Grand. He was in high spirits, dressed in a white tank top and gold jewelry, a picture of youth and success. But after the fight, an altercation broke out in the hotel lobby when Tupac and his entourage assaulted Orlando Anderson, a known Crips gang member. Security cameras caught the brawl, and though Tupac seemed unfazed afterward, those close to him later admitted they feared the retaliation that might follow.
