Since 1997, Tzu Chi volunteers have been spreading the word about recycling in Kluang, Malaysia. Over these past 15 years, the amount recycled, has grown from 40,000 to 500,000 kilograms. The results, have deeply moved government officials, so this year, the Division of Environmental Protection for Youth and Sports of Malaysia applied to give Tzu Chi, a property to establish a recycling center. The opening ceremony on July 8th, attracted nearly 200 residents.
