(21 Jul 2015) The Republican 2016 field grew yet again Tuesday, as Ohio Gov. John Kasich joined the race.
Kasich becomes the 16th notable entry in the largest primary race in recent memory.
At a rally in Columbus, Kasich told supporters he has the "experience and testing" to serve as president.
But AP political reporter Steve Peoples said despite was many acknowledge to be a "rockstar resume," major questions remain "about how that translates in a Republican field that is this crowded."
Meanwhile as the fallout surrounding Donald Trump intensified, both the candidate and his supporters showed they are not backing down.
"We're seeing tensions enflamed on this but no signs that Trump is doing anything other than doubling down on his rhetoric. He's willing to go after anyone and everyone who stands in his way and he's really playing by a new set of rules," said Peoples.
