What is Therapeutic Recreation?

Therapeutic Recreation uses recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the needs of individuals with illnesses and/or disabling conditions as a means to psychological and physical health, recovery and well-being. Therapeutic recreation is an integral part of the total rehabilitation process for spinal cord and brain injuries. Leisure-time activities help define who we are, give life fullness, and keep us healthy.
