Back in the day, the Comics Code Authority wouldn’t allow open depictions of LGBTQ+ characters, so Irene was only referred to as Mystique’s "companion" or "close friend." But fans knew what was up—and now, in modern continuity, it’s finally canon: Destiny is Mystique’s wife, and together they’re one of the most powerful queer couples in comic book history. 🏳️‍🌈🔥

This cosplayer brought Irene to life with incredible attention to detail. No Mystique at her side? No problem.
