How to replace a Jeep Alternator DIY, today we are working on Trevor's 1998 Jeep tj wrangler. He's been having a issue with not charging and low voltage on the gauges. He was lucky as his alternator has a built in regulator. the newer models have a control cable that runs to the computer. if it's not charging then removing this cable may make a difference in the alternator status if indeed that was the issue. In this case the alternator did fail and fixed it with a junk yard fix.
