Following is the guide to Install Android P DP5 on your MI A1

REMEMBER TO BACKUP EVERYTHING AS THIS WILL REPARTITION YOUR USERDATA AND WILL WIPE YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE.

To unlock bootloader of Mi A1

download adb and fastboot zip

extract it on your computer

Switch off your phone and Reboot Mi A1 in fastboot mode. To boot into fastboot mode Press “Power on button” + “Volume Down button” at the same time. You are in Fastboot Mode now.

Connect Mi A1 to PC Using USB Cable. At the First time, Windows will install required drivers this will take awhile. Wait till it completes the installation.

Open ADB Folder. Press Right Click button of a mouse with holding a Shift key. From the options choose “Open Command Window here“.

In the command window, Type the following code to check whether your Mi A1 is connected properly to PC or not.

fastboot devices

If it shows a device below the command line then you are ready to move ahead. If it doesn’t show any device then try reinstalling USB Driver.

Type the following command to Unlock Bootlaoder of Mi A1.

fastboot oem unlock

This command will unlock the bootlaoder of the device. To get out from fastboot mode simple put the fol

fastboot reboot

That’s it! We have successfully Unlock Mi A1 Bootlaoder within a few minutes. Now, You can Install TWRP Recovery on Mi A1

Again Reboot to fastboot mode

Install TWRP-fastboot only through fastboot boot command
(Extract the .img file from the zip,
keep it in adb folder,
right click while pressing shift key,
open command window,
type command "fastboot boot ABC.img" {ABC.img is the img file you extract})

Reboot to TWRP recovery

Go to WIPE then ADVANCED then click FORMAT data. This will remove Encryption on your device and allows you to set new passwords when installing the GSI. Note that this will format your internal storage.

Treblelize through TWRP Tissot Manager (Go to advanced, click Tissot Manager and choose the repartition userdata option. Select singleboot option then click repartition)

Flash latest Vendor.img as VENDOR IMAGE

Flash A/B system DP5 GSI img as SYSTEM IMAGE (Extract the .img file from the zip)
