The Detroit Riots of 1967 - US 101

In July of 1967, the city of Detroit suffered five days of violent and destructive rioting.

From July 23-27, African-Americans, who were upset at the constant harassment they received from Detroit police, along with dealing from an economic downfall, began rioting in the streets. We'll look at the cause of the riots, what happened during the riots, and try to figure out whether they could have been avoided.
