[4KHDR] Driving in Belgium: A1 E19 & R1 (Ring) from Brussels to Antwerp - EU's Busiest Highway

In this video you can drive along on the A1 E19 and R1 Ring Road connecting Belgium's capital Brussels to the port city of Antwerp. The A1 E19 is one of the highways connecting the two largest cities in the country, alternatively there is the A12 that runs in parallel.

The R1 Antwerp beltway / ring road is one of the busiest roads in Western Europe when it comes to traffic intensity. In peak years before the pandemic, traffic numbers (AADT) were reported to be close to 300.000 vehicles a day.

Brussels is the capital of Belgium with well-over 1 million inhabitants. Antwerp, situated in the Flemish part of the country, is the 2nd largest city with well-over 500.000 inhabitants and boasts one of Europe's largest ports on the Schelde river.
