In service with United Automobile Services Limited Darlington June 1942 fitted with a Northern Counties L27/28R Bodywork with fleet number BDO29
In May 1951 fleet number changed to BGL29.
In 1954 it was re-bodied with 1949 ECW Lowbridge coachwork L27/26R from an ex Leyland PD2
In January 1959 it became out of service with United.
March 1959 in service with Silcox Motor Coach Company, Pembroke Dock till it became withdrawn from service in November 1969.
January 1970 acquired by M Banks, P Battersby and G Holt of Hull
till 1977 P Battersby , Teesside.
July 1981 Aycliffe & District Bus Preservation Group Newton Aycliffe

Preserved as United Automobile BGL29
Bistol K5G - GHN 189
Bus is powered by a Gardner L5W 5 Cylinder 7 litre diesel engine.
It is restored to its present condition by Aycliffe & District Bus Preservation Society in 1988 and its the oldest surviving United double decker bus.

Edited to approx 5 minutes a loop trip from the museum around Newton Aycliffe.
Some gear crunching left within but now realise I need to invest in an external microphone for better audio.
