Bon Jovi | Live at Times Square | Rare Uncut Audience Tape | New York 1995

Rare footage of the band rehearsing and then performing live in Times Square for a broadcast that was transmitted live to the MTV Awards in 1995. The Pro Shot portion was left out on purpse because that broadcast got blocked both on Damned TV's and my channel in the past. Ironically, once they get ready to air live, the sound quality degrades on the tape here. After the signal to the awards was cut, the band still added Someday I'll Be Saturday Night for the fans at the location. Furthermore, another interesting story surrounding this: back in 2008, I found the original filmer of this video, I think on a site like megavideo or maybe even Myspace (certainly not on YT). He told me he had transferred the tape, but it didn't exist anymore and sent me a copy of his disc. However, the footage was unusable since a poor quality transfer had left the video VERY pixilated and the audio so compressed that it was hopelessly distorted. Which lead to the rare case that a VHS which I found a few years later and logically was at least two generations higher (AND converted to PAL format) was actually the better option. In all of my collecting years, this probably was the only time this had happened. A full Soundboard capture of this appeared through Wolfgang's vaults about a decade ago, but for some reason, timestretch issues meant that neither Damned TV nor I were able to match it to the video portion. It can be found on his channel as a pure audio source though. I refrained from trying anything further in terms of making it work with the video (like Wembley 1995) since I though it'd probably lead to the video being banned again when the audio's too close to the actual mix of the live broadcast. This way here, we might happily be able to watch it from our diehard's seats :)
The audio was lower and more noisy on the right channel as well as plagued a bit by noise and crackle. I cleaned it up as much as possible without altering the sound too much and added a sound sample for you to check it out. The video was quite good since I still used the then-state-of-the-art equipment for VHS transfer at the time and only underwent slight colour rebalancing and other little touches this time around.
