Can Beer Get Warm and Then Cold Again? Debunking the Most Common Beer Storage Myth

One of the biggest misconceptions about beer is the idea that it will be ruined if it goes from refrigerator temperature to room temperature and then back again. But that's false. It's not going to ruin the beer whatsoever.

What you need to worry about more than temperature change is light exposure, according to researchers at the University of North Carolina. They found that when the hops in beer are exposed to either visible or ultraviolet light, they can react and cause your beer to taste and smell foul. Though, temperature can be an issue if it's extreme. If your beer gets up over 100-degrees by sitting in your trunk for a long time on a hot July day, that might alter the beer. But if it just warms up to room temperature and then you bring it back down to your cooler's temperature, you'll be just fine. Don't worry about it.
