A basic overview of shield mechanics in Elite Dangerous, and the modules involved in building effective shields. A sidewinder is used to demonstrate the basics of building shields, though many of the principles applied her work on the other ships in the game.

NOTE: Some of the build choices are based on my opinions, though the mechanics are sound. Other players will certainly have different approaches to setting up ships and shields.
