How to start a blog using WordPress?

👉 First, consider the niche for your blog. Find a topic you are passionate about to make blogging more enjoyable.

👉 Then, choose your web hosting plan and a domain name. After setting up your hosting account and registering your domain, install an SSL certificate to increase your website’s security and credibility.

👉 Access your WordPress admin dashboard and pick a theme. If you can’t decide which theme to choose, check out our 10 Best WordPress Themes for the 2022 video. Find a cost-effective and high-quality design that matches your branding. Personalize your design by customizing its font and colors.

👉 The next step is to create pages, such as the Home, About, and Contact pages. Head to Dashboard - Pages - Add New to create them. Don’t forget to delete the default Sample page as you no longer need it.

👉 Another essential aspect in starting a blog is Categories to separate different topics. We recommend changing every WordPress blog post's default Uncategorized to a specific category.

👉 You can create subcategories for particular topics to organize your blog better. Select a Parent Category for niche topics. For example, the Desserts can be a subcategory under the Recipes on a food blog.

👉 Next, add a menu to the blog to help readers navigate between pages easier. Head to Dashboard - Appearance - Menus to create the main menu for your WordPress blog. Customize your menu with the pages and categories you have previously made.

👉 Head to Dashboard - Posts - Add New to create your first WordPress blog post. After writing and editing your blog post, include Embeds and Widgets to make your posts more unique.

👉 Don’t forget to select a featured image by clicking on the Settings icon and selecting the Post section. Scroll down to the Featured Image section and choose one that fits your content.

👉 Before publishing, select a category for your post. Then, click on the Publish button in the top right corner.
