A personal highlight in my vast collection of books, is this manual by Cresson H. Kearns, called Nuclear War Survival Skills (NWSS). This is the 2015 edition. This is a civil defense manual, researched from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, during the cold war. The main emphasis in this book is on survival preparations that can be made in the last few days of a worsening crisis. However, please note, that most of the information it contains, covers far more than radiological topics. There is food preparations, fuel management, extensive shelter blueprints, clothing for various conditions, water filtration, sanitation, various tools, mechanisms, that can all be used in outdoor survival, and urban survival as well.
