Why I quit my job at a nonprofit | Black Women Embracing Ease

Описание к видео Why I quit my job at a nonprofit | Black Women Embracing Ease

Does your job leave you drained, with no energy for your actual life?

Too many Black and brown women are experiencing physical and mental health issues – like generalized anxiety, depression, eye strain, lack of sleep, and weight gain – because of workplace stress.

My job at a mission-driven nonprofit was making me miserable. My teammates were talented and kind. My manager was supportive and hardworking. Our division director was dedicated and smart.

However, the organization overall was highly dysfunctional, which led to a whole lot of nonsense going on beyond the cocoon of my team.

When I finally quit my job in November 2023, I felt so much relief. 😮‍💨 And it kicked off a wave of decluttering as I started clearing out even more unwanted stuff from my life.

In this video, I talk about why I quit my job, how I did it, and how I found a remote job to replace it.

Remember, your time on Earth is too precious for you to spend it being miserable. As Tricia Hersey says, “You don’t have to suffer.” If you’re suffering at your job, let this be your mantra as you find your way out.
