Thoughts on Honey - Does It Fit Into The Gizzverse?

Описание к видео Thoughts on Honey - Does It Fit Into The Gizzverse?

My thoughts on whether King Gizzard’s song Honey fits into the Gizzverse or not. A topic that seems to be diving a lot of people, with many memes made about it – some of which that included one of my videos on it (achievement unlocked).

But regardless of the memes that I’ve seen, it’s hard to go past the connections with the song Honey albums in the past since it does just seem to be too much of a coincidence to not be referring to what we know from before.

This is my video explaining why.

What is King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and the Gizzverse?

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard is an Australian rock band formed in 2010 in Melbourne, Victoria. The band consists of Stu Mackenzie (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, flute), Ambrose Kenny-Smith (vocals, harmonica, keyboards), Cook Craig (guitar, bass, vocals), Joey Walker (guitar, bass, keyboards, vocals), Lucas Harwood (bass, keyboards), Michael Cavanagh (drums, percussion), and Eric Moore (drums, percussion, management). They are known for exploring many different genres, staging energetic live shows and building a prolific discography, having released fifteen studio albums, two EPs and four live albums since the band's formation.

Many of the band's releases are based on a unique concept, yet share lyrical themes and feature characters that form a recurring cast, the most famous being Han-Tyumi, a cyborg who appears across multiple albums. Their songs also tell stories of people-vultures, bushrangers and Balrogs, as well as "lightning gods, flesh-eating beasts, sages and space-faring eco rebels". Members of r/KGATLW, a subreddit dedicated to the band, popularised the term "Gizzverse" to describe the overarching narrative of their discography, about which many theories have been propagated. In a 2017 interview, Stu Mackenzie confirmed that the band's releases are all connected, saying, "They all exist in this parallel universe and they may be from different times and different places but they all can co-exist in a meaningful way". In the same interview, drummer Eric Moore stated that even prior to the band's formation, they decided how the story will end.
