Of course, there are states where the bills are automatically generate from system and the chances of such scams happening are very little. But there are other states where these scams are still ongoing

A few days ago we observed a strange phenomenon : We never receive our electricity bill on time! We are sure most of you also must've faced this. The only possible reasons we could come up with were: the DISCOMS are lethargic and generate bills as and when they deem fit or there's something really fishy which we don't understand.

We decided to dig a little and the revelations were shocking to say the least.

There's a big scam going on with generation of these bills, apparently just by tweaking certain dates the companies are able to extract extra amounts from customers. Even if this affects 5-10% of the customer it ends up snowballing into a huge number (thousands crores) for these companies.
