1968 Pontiac GTO for Sale Unique, nearly-original survivor cars are very special, and they're very hard to find. That's especially true for a car like this, an absolutely jaw-dropping 1968 Pontiac GTO. With just over 54k original miles on the odometer, a single repaint, the original interior, vinyl top, and powertrain combination, this '68 GTO is an extremely special car. That cannot be overstated. Powered by a numbers-matching, YS-code 400 C.I. Pontiac V8 breathing through a 4-barrel carburetor, this '68 Pontiac isn't hurting for power in any way. Torque is put to the pavement through a 3-speed TH400 automatic transmission, equipped with a Hurst "His & Hers" dual-gate shifter that permits either automatic shifting in "drive" or manual selection through the gears. Now, what really sets this GTO apart from the pack is its color combination. Covered in a glossy "Starlight Black", this GTO reflects like a mirror in the sun after being buffed to a brilliant shine. It pairs wonderfully to the "Oxford Red" interior-matching pinstripes, which run the length of this GTO's laser-straight bodylines. With only 54k original miles, the floors, frame, trunk and jambs on this '68 Pontiac are all rock-solid and present wonderfully. Opening the twin doors reveals an absolutely stunning interior which, with the exception of some SunPro under-dash aux. gauges, is completely original. The factory "Oxford Red" vinyl bucket seats are also very comfortable, and they compliment the matching exterior pinstriping nicely. Woodgrain dashboard trim adds a splash of luxury flair to this car, and it's also got a full center console! This GTO is presented with plenty of options, including power steering, power brakes, a stock hood tachometer, factory gauges, a chrome remote driver's side mirror, a heater + defroster, an original AM pushbutton radio, vent windows, a rear spoiler, tons of documentation, and a mean-sounding dual exhaust system. The car rides on stock 15" PMD steel wheels over some slick B.F. Goodrich RWL tires for a look straight out of a 1968 Pontiac advertisement! This '68 GTO runs and drives like a dream on wheels, which fits this car's character. This '68 Pontiac is an extremely special car, and you're not going to see another one quite like it. The point is, if you want a car that's as close to a showroom-spec 1968 GTO as possible, you're looking at your next ride!
