Getting your bike on an Irish train for cycle touring in Ireland

Описание к видео Getting your bike on an Irish train for cycle touring in Ireland

It's free to take a bike onto a train in Ireland but you do need to book it on in advance and space is limited. The Irish Rail online booking system is a little confusing so here I take you through the process from working out what train stations you need, to booking a ticket WITH a bike space and then to getting the bike onto the train. As a bonus I also have recordings of me taking my ebike onto a train in Heuston station Dublin and off at Westport in Mayo. Then at the end a quick guide to arriving at Rosslare Europort where the ferry arrives for many of you following Eurovelo 1.

You'll find more content about using the Irish train system to cycle tour in my day to day diaries of cycling the entire Irish coast as I did that in stages getting a train from Dublin to a coastal station and then cycling to the next over a few days to get a train back
