It was our short visit to Maharashtra for 3 days in October , specially for Ratangad & Harihar trek as it was in our bucket list since long , we had a great camping & trekking experience there as the natural beauty was breathtaking & it was real fun . RATANGAD is a fort in Ratanwadi ,Maharashtra ,India ,overlooking the locale of Bhandardara , one of the oldest catchment area ,this fort is located in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra ,the fort is 400 yrs old. The fort is often covered with flowering plants in October . The base villages are Ratanwadi & Samrad , though Ratanwadi is more popular & practical . You can also visit the Amruteswar temple (1200 yrs old ) in Ratanwadi , on the banks of Prabhara river & beautiful Bhandardra lake .

Things to keep in mind :
Try to visit in your own vehicles or make a group of people & reserve a car
to reach the base village, as the place is remote & public transportation is
in poor form ( specially while returning u won,t get anything )
