One of the great films of the British Documentary Movement by Humphrey Jennings and Stewart McAllister ( always known at Mac, and always with a cigarette between his lips). Harry Fowle (1915-1995) shot most of this film in 1941. Mac and Jennings spent weeks in thecutting room putting the right picture to the mixture of sounds they had available to them. Joe Mendoza (b 1921 ) the AD recalled working on this film with Jennings and Mac some years ago.

In this version we have cleaned up the sound and fixed some missing frames.
