Dipankar Barman’s run has finally ended. After managing to blow smoke in the eyes of law enforcement agencies and evade arrest for 68 days since August 18, one of the most wanted scamsters of Assam, the kingpin of the DB Stock trading scam, has finally landed in the police net.
A 4-member team of Guwahati Police arrested Dipankar in Goa last night. It has been a big catch for Guwahati Police as Dipankar was wanted for duping people of thousands of crores of rupees in the name of investing in stocks.
Sleuths of Guwahati Police, who had camped in Goa for over 2 weeks prior to yesterday’s operations, swooped Barman from a location 70-80 KMs from the main town, in what was a top secret operation carried out under the direct supervision of Guwahati Police Commissioner Diganta Barah, under the guidance of DGP GP Singh.
