Cordoba, Spain | 4K Walking Tour 2024

Córdoba is a city in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia. It was an important Roman city and a major Islamic center in the Middle Ages. It’s best known for La Mezquita, an immense mosque dating from 784 A.D., featuring a columned prayer hall and older Byzantine mosaics. After it became a Catholic church in 1236, a Renaissance-style nave was added in the 17th century.

This walk begins at the Avenida de America street, which is in front of train station and continue to beautiful park surrounded by oranges trees and fountains in Victoria Garden. Next, you will visit shopping area, and Plaza de las Tendillas. The stroll in the streets of historical centre is ended with beautiful square where you can find the famous Mezquita and Roman Bridge. The second part begins in the Barrio de San Basilio, well know for its patios full of flowers. The tour begins by the statue, which represents the transfer of tradition from grandparents to grandchildren, and was made in 2014 as a tribute for its inclusion as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Near this neighbourhood you can find famous Alcázar, Mezquita Catedral and the Roman Bridge (Puente Romano). The last part of video begins at Plaza del Potro, with lovely cafeterias and tapas bars and continue to the town square Plaza de la Corredera. We pass by a Roman Temple an then Plaza de las Tendillas where the tour ends.
