AJW U480 Countertop Waste Chute

This video is to bring you a closer look at the AJW U480 counter top waste chute. This is a circular waste chute. Pretty self-explanatory. Circular hole in counter top fits in. Stainless steel and polished finish is what you see 22 gauge. Basically just fits into the hole. Generally not mechanically fastened or sealed with caulk, but I've seen that. Generally they are just loose so they can be removed and cleaned out around it and under it. This is a size of 6-11/16" diameter and overall 4 13/16" deep. Overall 4-13/16" which is not the case. It looks to be 3-1/2". Rough opening counter top opening requirement is 5-13/16". That makes sense, as it would leave 3/16". Technical drawing does show 4-13/16" for overall height, but the one I have here is 3.5" overall height. I'm not going to change the description, but let's chalk it up to the one I've got September 2013 not as called out. Very nice quality product from AJW. What you are going to find from them is very great value for the dollar. Good decent lead times for shipping. Fit and finish always very excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to use them on any project. Good workmanship on this. Installation: Provide an area on the counter top as desired or another specified location. Coordinate installation with architect or contractor to avoid interference with other things. This will fit into the cabinet you will want it to run in. 5-13/16" diameter hole for the chute, fill in the underside of flange and around area cut out with silicone not provided and insert into the opening. As I said, I've seen it done that way, or others leave it loose. Clean off excess sealant. Waste receptacle below very typical, but not provided with this.
