Hello folks!

Today we are building a new keyboard, which is the JRIS75 from ‪@Mykeyclub-iy5hq‬! It is my first group buy board and I received it way earlier from ‪@hexkeyboards7552‬ but didn't have the time to sit down and build it. ‪@Mykeyclub-iy5hq‬ is known for entry level boards such as the MKC75, JRIS65 and their newly released JRIS80. I've heard really good reviews about their boards so I decided to jump on this group buy :) Anyway, I got the kit with a brass and POM plate, which cost me about $340 SGD, which is about $255USD. The finishing of the board is pretty nice, and the texture is slightly rough. I also got the chroma PVD, which looks really beautiful and shiny :D An interesting feature of this board is that it comes with a catch ball disassembly system, which allows you to easily take apart the board to change the configurations. However, the catch ball system was really tight, which made me hurt some of my fingers trying to pry open the board haha. I know I can easily loosen the screws of the hinges, but I really wanted a tight-fitting board so I decided not to do it. Personally, I don't mind screws so this feature was nice but not necessary. I was also glad they offered non flex cut PCBs, but they only come wired, which I also didn't mind because I don't usually use the tri mode connection. They also provide stickers for you to tape up the flex cuts, which I thought was a really nice touch! Another feature I really liked about the board is that it is PCB mount, which allowed me to try a plateless build! Although it didn't turn out great, I still enjoyed trying something new haha. The switches were pretty loose though, cos it's hotswap and there isn't a plate to keep them in place, but I'm pretty sure it'll work. I also liked that the gasket beans, which allows you to customize the hardness to suit your typing needs. I went with the hardest gasket mounts for all configurations but I think the POM plate configuration with all foams could use only one as the foams took away almost all the flex haha.

The switches I used in this board were the KTT blue cheese! I had these switches for quite awhile already but I couldn't find a board to put it in. I'm so glad I used them for this build as I really enjoy the typing feel. They are really cheap as well, as most KTT products, and they are not too loud yet not too muted as well. The stock form is quite scratchy so I highly recommend lubing it! For keycaps, I had to go with the MW Barista as I am a hugeeeee coffee lover. The printing on the keycaps are really crisp, even the novelties and they have a smoother surface, as compared to the PBTFans set I Have. I didn't face any issues with warped spacebars as well, which is a common problem I hear. I can't wait to buy more sets from them :D

Overall, I really enjoyed building this board and filming the process. I wished the board came with stabs though. I would imagine if I was a beginner looking to buy this as my first board, I wouldn't want to fret over what kinds of stabs I have to purchase and blah blah blah. The spacebar is also a bit too muted for my taste. I might have to find a louder switch for it. I'm glad I hopped on this group buy and I can't wait to see what Mykeyclub has in store next :D
