Meredith Willson: he wrote and WAS The Music Man

A legendary composer, conductor and so much more, Meredith Willson could truly be called the namesake of his signature musical. Willson's life is now being told in a new documentary from ‪@IowaPBS‬ "Meredith Willson: America's Music Man." Much of the material from the film came from the Meredith Willson papers, which are housed at the Great American Songbook Foundation's Archives in Carmel, Indiana.

Chris Lewis is the executive director of the Foundation. We talked on Morning Edition on WFYI about their work and how you can see a free screening of the documentary at ‪@CPApresents‬ on April 11, courtesy of ‪@WFYIPublicMedia‬ Live.
