For the second year in a row, we celebrate Halloween with an especialy frightful game Coach Randy has dreamed up that is sure to strike fear into the hearts of bowlers everywhere. The game is called "Trick Or Treat -- As Easy As 1-2-3." Here's how it works:

Players will collect "treats" that will be held in their bank in case they need to spend them to buy their way out of trouble. Treats are collected whenever there's a color pin standing in the 1, 2 or 3 pin position and they strike. You collect as many treats as you have color pins standing in the 1, 2 or 3 pin positions when you strike. BUT...if you leave a 1, 2 or 3 pin standing after your second ball in the frame, you are instantly eliminated, regardless of how many treats you have collected along the way. But if you suffer an open frame and leave a color pin standing in any other spot besides the 1, 2 or 3 pin positions, you may continue your game as long as you have enough treats to purchase the remaining color pins. If, for example, you leave two color pins standing at the end of the frame and have 2 treats banked, you may spend those two treats, emptying out your bank, to stay in the match. But if you leave 2 color pins standing and only have one treat in your bank, then you don't have enough treats to buy your way out of trouble and you must suffer instant elimination. Players start each match with 1 treat in their bank. And each player may take up to 2 re-racks per game. We encourage them to use those re-racks wisely.

Two divisions today: The show begins with our top two "Littles" squaring off for the title. Then, it's a unique six-player stepladder in the "Bigs" Division, with two three-player matches followed by a two-player, head-to-head match to decide this week's title.

If you watched our Halloween show last year, you'll notice three changes to the rules this year. The color pins all work the same, except last year the players didn't get a treat to start. They also didn't get any re-racks last year. These two changes alone give players some new strategic options. And finally, last year we only bowleld 2--player matches, while this year in the Bigs, we pit three players against one another in the first two matches, making it at least somewhat more certain that most matches will go to the end.

As always, your comments are welcome. We only ask that you keep any remarks you wish to make about our players positive.
