Green Imperial Pigeons enjoy fruit buffet - 11 June 2024

The palm fruits are ripe at this corner of Changi Business Park. So, our resident Green Imperial Pigeon pair comes at 5.15 every evening for their fruit buffet while stocks last.

The Green Imperial Pigeon is a large forest pigeon, found in the Indian subcontinent, southern China and most of Southeast Asia. It inhabits forests, wooded areas, mangroves & parks. It is an uncommon resident bird in Singapore and is mainly located at the east side of Singapore island and Pulau Tekong.

The Green Imperial-Pigeon feeds on ripe fruits and berries. It often feeds in groups at fruiting trees. They also play an important role in distributing seeds & regenerate forest trees by passing seeds out in their droppings.
