नमः स्वधामनिष्ठाय
मनस्तापविमाथिने |
गुरवे तत्पदार्थाय
साक्षिणे हितकांक्षिणे ||

namaḥ svadhāmaniṣṭhāya
manastāpavimāthine
gurave tatpadārthāya
sākṣiṇe hitakāṅkṣiṇe
 
Salutations to the Guru,
who is established in His own Self; 
who annihilates the suffering of others; 
who is the embodiment of the word ‘Tat’ (that as in Thou Art That)-Brahman; 
the eternal witness; 
who wishes the well-being of the entire universe.
