CELTA lesson plans are a large part of the CELTA course and an extremely time-consuming one!

I wanted to run through some key points for these in brief to help you get to grips with lesson plans on your course and not let them drive you insane!

Remember that these plans will take a very long time so try to do everything you can before the course to become familiar with them and the style of the document.

In fact, I often recommend people try to write a lesson plan before they start the CELTA course just to get a feel for the document.

This is because the document is very specific and asks for a lot of things which are confusing and new for many people.

Even if you did try this practice and got it wrong, it will still be better than waiting until your CELTA course to then try to learn on the fly.

They are fairly logical so there is no reason why you can't have a go in advance. Your tutors on the course will certainly tell you a lot about how to do these and the language used in them, but just trying beforehand will still give you a big confidence boost.

To find a template lesson plan, you can google ‘CELTA lesson plan PDF’ and you will see some. The one I found through doing this was for IH Johannesburg, so you can trust the quality of it.
