Terrence Hopmann's research focuses on international negotiation and conflict resolution, arms control and disarmament, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) which he has followed since 1974. He is currently completing a book on "The OSCE's Role in Conflict Management, 1973-2023." He was in Geneva for nine months in 1974 (where the actual negotiations for the OSCE took place) and interviewed most of the negotiators at the time.
