On Tuesday afternoon, February 3, 2026, three Santa Monica Police Department officers on electric bicycles were observed conducting a routine patrol through Palisades Park.

During the patrol, officers approached several individuals in the park and initiated consensual contacts, asking for names and basic information and conducting record checks using in-field systems. The individuals contacted appeared cooperative, with many voluntarily providing identifying information.

The interactions were brief and orderly, and no detentions, citations, or arrests were observed during the patrol.

Santa Monica Closeup continues to document routine patrols, public interactions, and day-to-day activity in Palisades Park and other public spaces, providing an on-the-ground record of how law enforcement and the community intersect across Santa Monica.
