In order to create an alert,
you must be signed in to your free My NCBI account.

We have already signed in to our My NCBI account,
and our user name appears in the upper-right corner.

To create an alert, first run your search in PubMed.
Type gut microbiome allergy in the search box
and click Search.

From the Results screen, click “Create alert,” below the search box.

The “Your saved search” menu will appear at the top of your search results.
The saved search is automatically named;
you can change this to a more meaningful name.

Notice the option “Would you like e-mail updates of new search results?”
Select Yes.

Scroll down to see more options,
including how frequently you would like new results sent to you;
how many results you would like to receive, at most;
and whether you would like to receive an e-mail even when there are no new results.

Once you have made all your selections, click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.
You will automatically be returned to your search results,
and a message will show that your search and alert have been saved.

This search will now be included on your list of Saved Searches in your My NCBI account.

Take a moment to run a search for antibiotic resistance soap and save the search.

Your saved searches are available in your My NCBI account.

To view, edit or delete your saved searches,
click your My NCBI username in the upper-right corner and select “Dashboard.”
Click the Gear next to a saved search to edit it.
New results are also listed here,
along with the date last searched.
